Originality is a bourgeois concept.
The Dynamic Range and Tonal Quality are great. The more monochromatic an image becomes, the more important Tonal Quality becomes, because it is basically just the tones telling the entire story (a TONE is the measure of darkness/lightness of a shade).
The fine details showing the texture of the metal side-rails, the subtle reflections in the glass, all of this is dependent on subtle differences between tones. When Dynamic Range is pushed too far, you loose those fine details.
Here, you see a small amount of bright highlight going to a relatively small amount of absolute black. This is good.
